En wij  krijgen ze..    Zou zo ook maar eens kunnen dat er bij ons ook gekozen wordt voor een zo'n opsplitsing in de TTH en SOF uitvoering.
In TTH uitvoering ook, net als nu met de Cougar, als maritieme heli te gebruiken.

Aan de andere kant hoop ik dat ze allemaal in SOF uitvoering bij het 300 SQ komen, inclusief met air-refueling prode.
Maar dan hebben we, denk ik, voor maritieme ondersteuning van de mariniers en KM (JSS, LPD) een te kort.   

Persoonlijk denk ik dat 1 versie hanteren voordeliger is, hierbij kunnen we wel nat als bij de NH-90 NFH en MTTH er voor kiezen een x aantal heli's verder uit te rusten dan de rest. Dit zijn dan de SOF kisten, maar in de basis kunnen ook toestellen zo uitgerust worden als dat nodig blijkt in de toekomst.

Aangezien de nieuwe heli er voor moet zorgen dat de SOF capaciteit op zowel land als maritiem optreden versterkt gaat worden ga ik er vanuit dat alle toestellen maritiem inzetbaar zullen worden.

Hierbij kan ik denken bij de SOF uitgeruste kisten aan de refueling rod, extra bewapening (M-134D's / M3M's) en dat soort kleine maar voor SOF belangrijke dingen.

Die aantallen lijken me nog wel aan te vullen als het budget toch naar de 2% BBP gaat vanaf 2024.

300 Squadron heeft straks meer Caracals ter beschikking dan wat zij nu aan Cougars hebben. Zelfs als er wat in onderhoud staat.

Wanneer een aantal voor maritieme ondersteuning nodig zijn, dan zal op basis van prioriteiten hier een vlucht voor worden vrijgemaakt.

Het zal een 20-millimeter machinegeweer hebben, een 70-millimeter raketcontainer en later zullen er ook geleide antitankraketten beschikbaar zijn.

UK reducing New Medium Helicopter buy to 25-35 aircraft: Airbus exec

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has decided to slash the number of aircraft set to be acquired under the £1 billion ($1.3 billion) New Medium Helicopter (NMH) program to a maximum of 35 units, an industry official told Breaking Defense today.

An upper limit of 44 aircraft had originally been set in November 2021, but funding issues have led to a much lower target.

"They've [MoD] said between 25 to 35 [aircraft], see what you can do in industry," Lenny Brown, managing director of Airbus Helicopters UK, said in an interview at the Royal International Air Tattoo. "It's a kind of best effort with the funding available."

The acquisition calls for the replacement of Puma helicopters and a number of smaller rotary fleets, including Bell 212, Bell 412 and AS365 Dauphins, but delays have led to an Invitation to Negotiate (ITN) phase, initially scheduled for Q1 2023, being pushed to later this year. The new phase, which will define full requirements and costs, will only happen "at the earliest" in September this year, added Brown.

The UK has also still to confirm when a production contract award will happen or an NMH entry to service date.

Als dit doorgaat, dan zijn de Slowaken lekker bezig. Verder zouden zij eventueel kunnen samenwerken met hun buren. Tsjechië kocht 4 stuks AH-1Z Viper en er komen mogelijk 6 stuks extra.

Slovak Defence Ministry submits a request for a price quotation for 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters to U.S. Government

A request for a price quotation for the delivery of 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters along with the precise specification of requirements for the AH-1Z Viper and associated accessories, AGM-114 Hellfire II air-to-ground missiles, initial logistical support, training for pilots and technicians has now been submitted to the U.S. Government by the Slovak Defence Ministry, which has moved another step closer to accepting the U.S. Government's advantageous offer to strengthen Slovakia's defence potential.

As Defence Minister Martin Sklenár explained, what is to follow next is a review of our request along with other time-consuming arrangements, adding: "Given the complexity of the processes and previous experience, our American partner announced that due to the specifics of the project, which will involve returning the already produced helicopters in storage back into active service rather than producing new ones, it is necessary to expect longer periods for individual stages." He continued: "In this phase, our goal was to specify the requirements of the Slovak Armed Forces in as much detail as possible to increase the chances of quick progress and move on to the next step towards the delivery of the U.S. price quote."

Before the final price quotation is handed over to Slovakia, a team of U.S. SMEs must consider individual areas of the package (logistics, ammunition, maintenance, training, etc.) and review the condition of the helicopters and spare parts. Only then can the price offer and the formal notification to the U.S. Congress be prepared. After Congressional approval and the signing of the contract, the U.S. side will start refurbishing the helicopters and installing the required systems in them.

Considering the length of the processes involved, the delivery of the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters to Slovakia is expected to take three years. The value of the U.S. offer for the package is worth more than $1bn. However, based on its negotiations and agreement with the USA, the SVK MOD will pay about $340m over the course of 3-4 years from the planned Defence budget.
