New navy base recommended for Brisbane

Brisbane could become home to submarines and ships, with a Defence review recommending a navy base be built in the city.
A censored public version of a progress report on the Force Posture Review was issued yesterday, with the full report due in March.
The progress report recommended a naval base be established in the Port of Brisbane to "complement" the one in Sydney.
The base could be home to either Landing Helicopter Dock (LHD) ships or submarines, though a third option could see the base used for both.
