Instroom F-35/JSF bij de NL-KLu

Bedoel je met hangaar de grote onderhoudshangaar of de afzonderlijke shelters.

Denk eigenlijk dat welke van de twee het ook zou zijn het eigenlijk niet had uitgemaakt en men het als argument had gebruikt tegen de F15SE...

Liever een klein aantal F15SE's dan een klein aantal F-35A's zou ik dan persoonlijk zeggen, maar goed... dat schip is al lang voorbij gevaren, helaas.

Wat ik een non-argument vind en vond.

Zelf had ik het geen straf gevonden als een moderne F-15E met de Nederlandse roundel had rondgevlogen

Ja, maar als je voor deze toestellen maar ook voor de F-35A nieuwe hangaars moet bouwen? Waarom is het dan wel een argument om de F15SE (Silent Eagle) en de Super Hornet mee te slaan,  maar niet de F-35A?

Maar raar genoeg was dat voor sommigen dan weer geen reden om bijv. de Rafale af te serveren (ook een toestel overigens waar ik samen met de F15SE enthousiast over ben/was)... iets met, hier komt 'ie weer, ''fixatie''? 

Blijkbaar paste het niet binnen het wensdenken van sommigen...

De Strike Eagle en de Super Hornet zijn helaas groter dan de F-16 en F-35.

Het was een van de (vele... eerlijk is eerlijk) argumenten om de F15SE snel af te serveren... 

Ja, iets wat ook gold voor de F18E/F/G.

Waarbij (en dat is ook niet nieuw) de nieuwste F15 variant(en) meer bij de KLu vind passen dan de F35A.

Ik brul al jaren dat nieuwe shelters overbodig zijn....

Maar, maar, maar... een van de argumenten was toch dat we geen tweemotorige toestellen wilden omdat we dan ook nieuwe hangaars nodig hadden... toch? TOCH???

The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded Lockheed Martin GBP142 million (USD200 million) for the building of new infrastructure at the future home base of the UK's F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike fighter (JSF) force.

The contract, announced on 7 April, will see three facilities built at Royal Air Force (RAF) Marham in Norfolk to support the short take-off and vertical landing (STOVL) F-35B to be fielded by the RAF and Royal Navy (RN).

Lockheed Martin has sub-contracted GBP118 million to BAE Systems to manage the building work by construction firm Balfour Beatty, with a Logistic Operations Centre, an Integrated Training Centre, and a Maintenance and Final Finishes Building to be erected. The work will begin later this month and is scheduled to be completed in 2018, to coincide with the arrival of the 617 'Dambusters' Squadron and the first aircraft at the station.

The contract award coincides with the early completion of the tenth aft fuselage for the UK aircraft at BAE Systems' manufacturing site in Samlesbury, Lancashire. The fuselage will now be delivered to the F-35 final assembly line in Fort Worth, Texas.

In December 2015 BAE Systems announced that it had started work on extending its manufacturing facilities at Samlesbury in preparation for a significant ramp-up in production of the F-35. BAE Systems is the manufacturer of the rear fuselage, vertical and horizontal tails and carrier variant wing tips. The company also has responsibility for the fuel system, crew escape, life support, prognostics health management integration and UK aircraft carrier integration support.
