CitaatJohn Cockerill selected for the European FAMOUS 2, MARSEUS and INDY programmes  On 20 July, DG Defis, the European Commission's directorate responsible for implementing European Defence Fund programmes, announced the results of the selection of projects funded under the Work Programme 2021. John Cockerill will participate in the FAMOUS 2, MARSEUS and INDY programmes.

The FAMOUS2 project aims to develop innovative technological elements for the next generation of armoured platforms and to modernise existing platforms, including all-terrain vehicles, light armoured vehicles and tanks. FAMOUS2 builds on the ongoing FAMOUS project, launched in 2020 under the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP). It follows on from the vehicle and system concept development activities carried out under this seminal project.  In this project, John Cockerill Defense takes a major role in the consortium coordinated by the Finnish partner Patria.
John Cockerill Defense will coordinate all activities related to the development of medium calibre weapon systems to provide firepower for future tracked allterrain vehicles and light wheeled armoured vehicles. The weapon system development will be done in partnership with Patria, Nexter, Kongsberg, ISD and Escribano. John Cockerill Defense will also contribute to the development of protection, camouflage and environmental understanding solutions that will enable the implementation of recently developed innovations.

The MARSEUS (Modular Architecture Solutions for EU States) programme is the second part of the LynkEUS project, which is coming to an end, and aims to study the firing beyond line of sight of a 5th generation medium-range anti-tank missile, embarked on a vehicle in coordination with an observation drone.  MARSEUS, under the coordination of the French company MBDA, will develop the collaborative capability for this "beyond line of sight" firing capability over a 3-year period. John Cockerill Defense's role will be to integrate these new functionalities into our latest generation compact turrets, the Cockerill® CPWS and 1030.

Finally, John Cockerill will also participate in the INDY programme, which aims to develop solutions for the energy independence of military camps deployed in operations, such as hydrogen and micro-grid management.  Thierry Renaudin, President John Cockerill Defense : « We are happy and proud to be part of these large-scale European projects, which should lead to a strengthening of the competitiveness, efficiency and innovation capacity of the defence industry throughout the Union, and thus contribute to the Union's strategic autonomy.   This is a great recognition for our teams and their expertise, especially in the field of innovation and engineering ».

Die achterlijke duitsers doen he le maal niks hieraan.

Ik eis nu wel tanks. De situatie wordt echt te ernstig.

BAE Systems presents its new CV9035/50 with 35mm cannon with possible upgrade to 50mm   (lijkt wel op de NL CV90 met upgrade )

During the NATO Days 2022 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, BAE Systems unveiled its latest generation of CV90, the CV9035/50 Mk IV fitted with the new D-series turret armed with a 35mm automatic cannon which can be upgraded to a 50mm caliber.

BAE Systems displays its new CV9035/50 armed with a 35mmmm automatic cannon which can be upgraded with a 50mm cannon, during the NATO Days 2022 in the Czech Republic.

The CV9035/50 was presented for the first time during the edition 2021 of DSEI, an international defense exhibition that was held in London, United Kingdom. The CV9035/50 is fitted with the new D-series turret. The main weapon position is changed to provide even better vehicle balance and enable new ways to introduce a variety of weaponry for increased lethality. It also offers significant ergonomic improvements to benefit the vehicle's crew.

With this new turret configuration, the CV90 provides crews with improved protection and increased combat efficiency. It represents our continued commitment to delivering the most modern, advanced Infantry Fighting Vehicle that meets our customers' requirements now and in the future

The CV9035/50 is based on the CV90 Mk IV which is the latest generation of tracked armored IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle) in the CV90 family. It was unveiled by BAE Systems during the International Armored Vehicles conference and Exhibition in September 2017. The CV90 Mk IV has many new improvements in terms of mobility, protection, and firepower.

In terms of firepower, the CV9035/50 also integrates the SPIKE-LR long-range anti-tank guided missile system manufactured by the Israeli company Rafael. Other significant improvements include the latest generation of sensors, Artificial Intelligence, and Augmented Reality software to increase the CV90's multi-domain capabilities on the battlefield.

The CV9035/50 is also fitted with the latest generation of protection systems including the Iron Fist Active Protection System designed and developed by the Israeli company Elbit Systems. The active protection system is a system designed to prevent anti-tank missiles/projectiles from acquiring and/or destroying a target.

35mm is prima.

Voor de US Army is er een XM913 50mm ontwikkeld, deze wil men nu standaard gebruiken voor de US Army
https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/us-army-now-armed-powerful-xm913-50mm-cannon-168598

Deze XM913 50mm is een afgeleide van de Bushmaster III 35/50

Northrop Grumman XM913 future 50mm automatic cannon for next generation IFV of US Army
In October 2019, Northrop Grumman has unveiled the XM913 50mm Bushmaster at the AUSA (Association of the United States Army) defense exhibition and conference that was held in Washington D.C., United States. The XM193 is based on the proven Bushmaster III 35/50 design and is intended to provide increased capability against modern infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) designs along with counter-UAS (unmanned aerial systems).
