Last post by mc196 - Vandaag om 13:44Hoe zat het met de Leopard tanks van de mobilisable eenheden? Tijdens de jaarlijkse oefening Donderslag kwamen reservisten op die een rondje met hun tank mochten rijden maar niet de poort uit mochten, dat had toch ook een fiscale reden.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin today [Wednesday] to deepen our defence and security cooperation.
As an initial step, the UK and Germany will announce plans for a joint endeavour to develop Remote-Controlled Howitzer 155mm Wheeled Artillery Systems (RCH 155), which will be fitted to Boxer vehicles.
The joint programme is expected to create hundreds of British and German jobs, while equipping our armed forces with battle-winning capabilities for future ground warfare.

Constructed on a Boxer armoured vehicles chassis, the RCH 155 is able to fire up to 9 rounds of 155mm artillery per minute and possess a powerful blend of tactical and operational mobility.
Rounds can reach distances of around 40 kilometres, and the RCH 155 is the world's first howitzer that can fire on the move, meaning it is more versatile in avoiding counter-artillery fire.
The programme has the potential to bring significant economic benefits to the UK, including component construction creating hundreds of British jobs across more than 100 separate UK-based subcomponent suppliers that support the wider Boxer programme.

De reden waarom ik de BTW ook aanhaalde was omdat ik vermoedde dat januskop de BTW verwarde voor een andere heffing. En, laten we eerlijk zijn: het zou logischer zijn als er geen BTW betaald zou hoeven worden over defensie-aankopen. Zijn ze meteen 21% goedkoper.

Daarbinnen toch ook niet?
Ik ben als ik zaken onderneem met de overheid ook vrijgesteld van BTW. Dat wordt niet aan mij betaald en hoef ik ook niet aan de belastingdienst te betalen. Het lijkt me dat defensie als overheidsinstantie dat dan toch ook niet hoeft te doen?

Acht van de oorspronkelijke AH-64D's hebben zelfs nooit Nederland gezien. Die gingen direct van de fabriek naar Fort Cavazos (voorheen Fort Hood).

We hebben het hier op DF eens gehad over vervanging A10 in relatie met CAS (Close Air Support) en gebruik van UAV, maar op deze manier kan zo'n Reaper/Mojave best interessant worden.
Het is een goede aanvulling op het wapenarsenaal, maar vanwege de munitie wordt deze gun pod op een veel kortere afstand gebruikt.

CitaatCompared to even advanced miniaturized precision-guided bombs and missiles designed to lower the risk of collateral damage, guns present advantages in terms of focusing fire on smaller targets or groups thereof. A gun-armed Mojave could be able to more rapidly shift focus from one target area to another from pass to pass than it would be able to with precision-guided munitions. All of this could be particularly valuable when providing close air support in dense urban areas or in other situations where friendly forces or innocent bystanders might be dangerously close to enemy positions. Guns also offer a way to engage larger area targets and provide suppressive fire.
