Nieuwe ontwikkelingen op BOXER gebied

Krijg zomaar een onderbuik gevoel dat onze 13 Lichte Brigade zich hier bij aan gaat sluiten.... zou mooi staan in het rijtje integratie.

Wel vraag ik me af hoe rapid response deze Duitse eenheid gaat zijn. De Boxer met Lance toren zal (denk ik)niet in zijn geheel in een A400M passen. Daarnaast, al zou het wel passen hebben de Duitsers dan nog wel genoeg A400M's op de rol staan? Ik meen dat ze het aantal aan te schaffen toestellen omlaag hebben gebracht.

Het gaat dus vooral om vervoer over land.

Verder heeft het artikel erover dat mogelijk 100 stuks benodigd zullen zijn.

In dat geval hoop ik dat men weer over gaat op twee vierkante brigades. 2 exact gelijke brigades met elk een operationeel logische/bruikbare bewapening.
Wel zonde om de CV's er uit te schoppen maar logistiek en financieel wel beter op de lange termijn.

Dan blijf ik nieuwsgierig naar een direct fire platform op basis van de Boxer binnen die brigade(s) en de ontwikkelingen van de tank binnen de KL.

German Army considers wheeled rapid response brigade

The German Army is considering the option of creating a wheeled response element for rapid reaction and force deployment, sources told IHS Jane's .

Given the extent of projected combat and organic support elements, IHS Jane's understands that the rapid response formation would very likely be up to brigade-sized. The new formation would be expected to deploy in both symmetric and asymmetric threat environments and be able to hold its own against tracked and armoured vehicles. The new formation would constitute a German contribution to NATO's Framework Nations Concept, where smaller armies can plug their capabilities into an organisational backbone provided by a larger, framework nation.

De Duitsers wilden al meer Boxers aankopen, gaan ze een snelle reactie/inzetbare eenheden voorzien van Boxers ?
Dan is het ook aannemelijk dat ze de Boxer IFV gaan gebruiken.
Zal NL deze weg ook volgen, gezien de steeds verder samenwerking en ook gezamenlijke optreden met NATO's rapid response force ?

Je bedoelt vlakbaan geschut of een direct firing platform.
En de Boxer 120mm? Nog nooit van gehoord en als ik al heb mogen vernemen dat het 30/35mm kanon problemen met structurele integriteit van de modules oplevert denk ik dat dat er nooit gaat komen.

...dan zou ik altijd gaan voor de goedkopere Rosomak het verschil in prijs is zo groot .....en de Rosomak heeft het in Afghanistan uitstekend gedaan bij de Polen ! en is lichter ook een bijkomend voordeel bij luchttransporten.

Ik ben met je eens dat Rosomak goed aan de weg timmert met verschillende typen en bewapening, maar voor standaardisatie binnen de NL-KL en niet onnodig van voertuig te gaan wisselen, bij de Boxer blijven.

Wat ze hier bij de Rosomak gedaan hebben is een Cockerill XC-8 toren van het Belgische CMI erop gemonteerd, waarom zou deze dan ook niet op een Boxer passen ?

Rheinmetall Submits LAND 400 Bid Featuring the BOXER 8x8, Lance Turret and Northrop Grumman C4ISR Architecture

Rheinmetall has lodged a bid in response to the Commonwealth of Australia's LAND 400 Phase 2 - Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability request for tender. Under the tender, the Commonwealth is offered the latest version of the BOXER 8X8, the in-service LANCE turret and Northrop Grumman Corporation's command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) architecture.

The battle proven BOXER 8x8 – a joint development of Rheinmetall and KMW – provides a unique mix of mobility, capacity and survivability that allows the vehicle to operate effectively across the full spectrum of combat operations, while the vehicles inherent adaptability allows it to evolve as requirements and threats change.

If selected for LAND 400 the BOXER Cavalry Reconnaissance Vehicle (CRV) will provide the Australian Army a combat proven, low risk capability that can be rapidly transitioned into service and easily supported through life.

The Rheinmetall LANCE turret is a mature system that is in-service with a NATO country. LANCE generates a range of scalable, precise, effects to effectively deal with threats on the current and future battlefield.

Rheinmetall is committed to the creation of an enduring Australian capability beyond the minimum LAND 400 Australian Industry Capability (AIC) requirements, and has successfully completed a comprehensive supplier engagement activity with more than three hundred Australian Companies. Through this process Rheinmetall has selected Supacat to be the first Australian company to be part of the BOXER CRV team.

Supacat in Australia will draw on its experience in developing and certifying vehicles with the Australian Department of Defence to support the Rheinmetall LAND 400 team.

Andrew Fletcher, Managing Director of Rheinmetall Defence Australia, said "Delivering the best possible protection to Australian armed forces - in line with the demanding protection specifications - is a non-negotiable objective for our LAND 400 team."

Rheinmetall Defence is bidding its BOXER 8x8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle in response to the Commonwealth Government of Australia's LAND 400 Phase 2 - Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Capability Request for Tender (RFT).

Rheinmetall Defence has the capacity to deliver the most survivable and lethal Mounted Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle from a portfolio of in-service systems. The Combat proven BOXER, LANCE Turret, Air Burst Munitions, Active Defence Systems and advanced simulation systems are all designed, produced and delivered by Rheinmetall.

This will be backed by an enduring commitment to Australian Industry and the creation of a robust support package to deal with the emerging complexity associated with LAND 400 Phase 2.

Aanschafkosten is eenmalig, operationele en onderhouds kosten zijn jaar in jaar uit terugkomende kosten. 
Dit geldt voor elk type materieel, hebben we ook gedaan in het topic "vervanging F-16". Waarbij Poleme volgens mij een verdeling aangaf in de totale levensduurkosten van (volgens mij) 30% = aanschaf, 70% = onderhouds/operationele kosten.  (Als ik me vergist heb, dan hoor ik het graag)

maar je kan er niet vanuit gaan dat de Boxer+turret goedkoper in onderhoud is dan een VBCI of een ROSOMAK...in vergelijking met de CV90 die op rups staat geloof ik het wel dat de Boxer goedkoper is ja.

Maar om twee bataljons of drie op wielen te zetten met Boxers..???...dan zou ik altijd gaan voor de goedkopere Rosomak het verschil in prijs is zo groot .....en de Rosomak heeft het in Afghanistan uitstekend gedaan bij de Polen ! en is lichter ook een bijkomend voordeel bij luchttransporten.

Dat weet je niet omdat de Boxer met Turret nog niet is ingevoerd en getest in oorlogs situaties.

Ik heb het niet over of het system werkt of niet, ik heb het over het feit dat wieltjes goedkoper zijn dan rupsen.

Ben ik niet met je eens.
In eerste instantie draait het om de aanschafprijs/prijs per stuk.
Daarnaast komen de operationele kosten om de hoek kijken, afhankelijk van geschatte levensduur vs inzet. En deze kunnen van jaar tot jaar verschillen.

Toch werkt het zo in de realiteit niet, kijk maar naar de CV90 waar 13 Mechbrig van ontnomen is.
Heeft 100 procent met operationele kosten te maken.

Operationele kosten draait het om, en daarmee is een boxer velen malen goedkoper.
