Poland invites Airbus Helicopters to bid on military helo tender, says industry exec  ( ... The story gaat verder ...)

PARIS — Airbus Helicopters has just received documents from the Polish Defence Ministry inviting the company to take part in a tender for 16 military helicopters, according to an industry executive.

"The documents arrived yesterday evening," the executive said Tuesday. The documents, which are in Polish and undergoing translation, look like a request for information to deliver eight helicopters for the Polish special forces and eight for the Polish Navy, the executive added.

The Polish Defence Ministry also invited Leonardo and Lockheed Martin to take part in the competition, business website La Tribune reported. Poland is eventually expected to order between 50-70 helicopters.

The previous Polish government had picked Airbus Helicopters for exclusive negotiations to supply 50 H225 Caracal helicopters, only to see the present administration break off those talks in October before a contract was signed. That reversal soured relations between Warsaw and Paris.

Airbus Helicopters expects to finalise Kuwait H225M deal 'in the coming weeks'  (30 stuks a € 56,7 miljoen, levering start nog in 2018 )

Airbus Helicopters expects to shortly finalise its contract with Kuwait for 30 H225M Caracal medium-lift helicopters, the company's CEO said on 27 January.

Speaking at a press briefing, Guillaume Faury said that the deal that was agreed in August 2016 has not yet come into force, but that it should do so "in the coming weeks".

Kuwait signed a contract with Airbus Helicopters to procure the 30 H225Ms for a reported EUR1.7 billion (USD1.14 billion) following a type selection that was made in mid-2015, and includes support and services. Of these, 24 will go to the Kuwaiti Air Force and six to the Kuwait National Guard to be used for combat search-and-rescue, naval operations, medical evacuation, and military transportation.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin before the end of 2018.

Faury explained that the Kuwait deal was a highlight from a mixed year for the H225. Other successes included the sale of two additional H225Ms to Thailand (which still designates the type EC725) and the sale of an undisclosed number of H225Ms to Singapore (with Faury stating that 2016 saw 23 such H225M sales without Kuwait, it would appear that Singapore's order was for 21 such helicopters). On the downside was the fatal loss of a commercial H225 in Norway, and although not mentioned by Faury, another was the cancellation of Poland's order for 50 H225Ms in October 2016.

Away from the H225 but staying within the Super Puma family, Faury noted that the recently relaunched H215 continues to draw interest from around the world, with 2016 seeing a contract with the German police, and deliveries to Bolivia and the Finnish Border Guard. He announced also that the sale of seven H215 helicopters to an unnamed customer was secured in early 2017.

- Helibras presents the first H225M in naval combat version, developed for the Brazilian Navy.

- Advanced anti-surface warfare and tactical capabilities open new mission capabilities for the multirole H225M utility helicopter.

- Flight-test will pave the way for military certification in 2018.

Helibras and Airbus Helicopters have opened a new chapter in the history of the H225M multirole utility helicopter with the official presentation of the first aircraft in naval combat configuration. Developed and assembled locally by Helibras, Airbus Helicopters' subsidiary in Brazil, this new H225M version is designed to meet the demanding requirements of the Brazilian Navy, with mission capabilities including anti-surface warfare and maritime surveillance.

This evolution of the H225M is built around a Helibras-developed tactical mission system including an APS-143 surveillance radar, advanced self-protection systems as well as signals intelligence capabilities. The helicopter is also equipped with two AM39 Exocet anti-ship missiles, while the cargo bay accommodates a dedicated sensor operator console providing the mission commander with an overview of the tactical situation. An automatic identification system (AIS) will also allow crew members to gather information on surface vessels.

"I am particularly proud to present this new version", said Helibras president Richard Marelli. "This latest and unique version of the H225M is a testimony of the hard work our teams have been doing here in Brazil in close collaboration with Brazilian military customers. It also demonstrates our ability to effectively transfer technology, skills and know-how to Brazil, and our commitment to support the development of the country's aerospace industry".

The helicopter unveiled this week in Itajubá will be the first H225M in naval combat version to be delivered to the Brazilian Navy in 2018, after the end of military certification trials. It is part of a global order for 50 H225Ms for the Brazilian armed forces, 26 of which have already been delivered to the Brazilian Air Force, Navy and Army. Helibras is in charge of the complete assembly of H225Ms in Itajubá, including integration of mission equipment, flight line activities and industrial acceptance. With a target to achieve 50% of national content by 2020, Helibras has developed a local supply chain which includes more than 37 Brazilian companies.

Five H225Ms with teeth headed to Brazilian Navy

Ja, dit lijkt me een behoorlijk ''stinkend'' zaakje. Zeker als je de tegemoetkoming op het vlak van de omzetbelasting aan de Polen in ogenschouw neemt...

aankoop Airbus Caracal's geschrapt .... Polen koopt S-70 Black Hawks !!

Black Hawks for the Polish Special Forces
Hieraan komt zeker nog een juridisch staartje...
Heel dubieus hoe dit allemaal afgehandeld is en al zeker wanneer er geen "economische compensaties" tegenover staan.
