These proposals include modifying the Elbit Systems Iron Fist Light Decoupled (IF-LD) hard-kill active protection system (APS) to enable it to perform a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) role, integrating the Elbit Systems mast-mounted Commander Open Architecture Panoramic Sight (COAPS) with the platform's Rafael Spike LR2 anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) launcher, and adding a day channel to the driver's front and rear camera systems, which will be delivered with just a thermal channel.

Goede aanpassingen !! Goed om te lezen dat er dus ondanks de voorgenomen afgesproken upgrade, deze niet klakkeloos wordt uitgevoerd. Maar dat er nagedacht wordt om toch nog extra verbeteringen toe te passen.
Vooral die van de APS om deze ook geschikt te maken als Counter Drone.

  dit is wel een serieus dingetje .. hopelijk kunnen ze hier nog wat aan doen. ik snap natuurlijk wel dat als de "draad" uitrolt tijdens de vlucht van de Spike dat je door te rijden en toren te draaien, de kans sterk vergroot dat de "draad" kapot gaat en je dus geen connectie, sturing/controle meer hebt over de Spike.
Maar dus ook het gebruik van de 35mm kan dus niet, waarschijnlijk om dezelfde reden en omdat ze door de blast , rook van het kanonafvuren geen zicht meer hebben op het doel.
Maar wat ik lees zijn er 2 modes hoe je de Spike kunt gebruiken, zie hieronder

The basic operating mode for the Spike is a "fire and forget". After firing, the missile automatically guides itself to the target impact. However, utilizing the fiber-optic communications link, Spike missile can also get target and guidance updates during the flight. This capability also enables the gunner to observe the target throughout the whole flight, as seen through the missile seeker. He can control the aim point during flight, thus ensuring the target is hit at its most vulnerable spot, which may not have been visible from the firing position. The fibre-optic data link also provides man-in-the-loop control all the way to target impact, hence permitting Spike to be used in operations which are subject to tough Rules of Engagement.

IAV 2024: Engineering change proposals investigated for CV9035NL MLU

The CV9035NL mid-life upgrade has a new turret with a pop-up ATGM launcher, a mast-mounted commander's sight, and a hard-kill active protection system. Although the first production-standard vehicles have yet to be delivered, the RNLA is considering further upgrades for some of its subsystems. (Dutch MoD)

he Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA) is considering multiple engineering change proposals for its CV9035NL mid-life upgrade (MLU) infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), Janes learnt at Defence iQ's International Armoured Vehicles (IAV) 2024 conference held in London from 22 to 25 January.

These proposals include modifying the Elbit Systems Iron Fist Light Decoupled (IF-LD) hard-kill active protection system (APS) to enable it to perform a counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) role, integrating the Elbit Systems mast-mounted Commander Open Architecture Panoramic Sight (COAPS) with the platform's Rafael Spike LR2 anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) launcher, and adding a day channel to the driver's front and rear camera systems, which will be delivered with just a thermal channel.

An update on the programme's schedule was also provided at IAV 2024, where it was revealed that firing trials with the Spike LR2 pop-up ATGM launcher were due to start in the week commencing on 29 January. The Spike LR2 ATGM launcher allows the platform to engage heavily armoured targets such as main battle tanks, although the cannon cannot be used when the launcher is open, and the platform cannot move when a missile is being launched because the Spike LR2 uses a wire to transfer data between the missile and the launcher.

These trials will precede the completion of the first production-standard example of the CV9035NL MLU, which is scheduled to take place on 15 May 2024.

Slim van de Zweden dit met de Fransen te doen. Fransen gaan idd geen cv90 kopen.

Maar deze integratie is tbv de Zweden, ze gaan de Akeron ook zelf produceren.

Aangezien de Zweden met project RBS-58 bezig zijn met de Akeron verwacht ik dat dit gewoon voor hen zelf is.

Integratie Franse MMP met de CV90, voorbode aanschaf Frankrijk CV90? 

Dit soort aannames zijn echt tekort door de bocht. Aangezien de Zweden met project RBS-58 bezig zijn met de Akeron verwacht ik dat dit gewoon voor hen zelf is.

Een mooie toevoeging op nieuwe systemen die mogelijk de fennek als verkenner gaan vervangen. Ik zou zeggen CV90 en Boxer afhankelijk van de eenheid waar ze ingezet gaan worden. Maar ik verwacht dat we meer voertuigen op G5 basis gaan zien binnen de KL, ik kan me niet voorstellen dat we het houden bij dat kleine aantal van de luchtdoel systemen.

Ik denk ook dat dat G5 platform idd een goede basis voor allerlei toepassingen.

Ik denk ook dat er een toename zal komen van zulke systemen als dat Hawkeye Modular Mission Pod (MMP) systeem om diverse capaciteiten toe te voegen aan je voertuigen/eenheden om zo ook je SA te vergroten.

Chess Dynamics has been selected by the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) to provide a Category 1 Target Location Error (TLE) vehicle mounted surveillance system for its Observation Targeting and Surveillance Systems (OTAS) project.

Ik denk enerzijds dat ze hiermee aan potentiële afnemers laten zien wat er aan upgrades mogelijk is. Aan de andere kant zou ik zo min mogelijk gaten in m'n toren willen.
Verder wordt het gewoon tijd voor een fatsoenlijke opvolger. Geen idee wat er achter de schermen allemaal uitgebroed wordt..

Echter, een goede integratie betekent niet per definitie penetraties in pantser.

Zouden de Zweden het aandurven om een nieuwe MBT te ontwikkelen (evt. samen met een partner) wat dan ook gelijk als basis dient voor de CV90 vervanger.
