Internationale pantservoertuigen APC IFV ontwikkelingen

Dit jaar op vakantie geweest in de buurt van Draguignan in het zuiden Frankrijk. Wat ik niet wist is dat daar de opleidingen zitten voor de infrantrie en artillerie van de Franse landmacht. Zag daar een aantal VMBR Griffon "vehicles" rijden. Nu heb ik me even verdiept in deze Griffon en Jaguar. Op Wikipedia staat dat de unit cost voor beiden 1 miljoen aanschafprijs is. Dit komt ook terug in stukken die ik las, weet niet of dit correct is.

Ik ken de mening over tracked vs wheel, en dat de Fransen belangen hebben in Afrika. Maar deze prijzen (als het klopt) afgezet tegen :

- 2.2 miljard voor Hongaren de Lynx;
- Engelsen met steeds meer uitloop van het programma aanschaf nieuwe IVF's
- Kosten aanschaf Boxer voor 13 lichte brigade totaal niet bewapend

Fransen kopen +1200 Griffons en 250 Jaguars a 1. miljoen per stuk.

Niet verkeerd de (prijs / kwaliteit) vanuit Frans perspectief, alles staat op wiel. Behalve 250 Lecrerc MBT's
Je kunt er iets van vinden, maar hier zit wel een visie achter rond 2025 hebben de Fransen dit ver geïmplementeerd.

En dat alleen is al een aanklacht tegen ons politiek establishment gezien de grote van onze economie, het defensiebudget in Euro's en de grote van onze bevolking. Echt een fucking schande.

Klopt, daarom ook dit statement. Hoop dat er binnen afzienbare tijd informatie komt hoe (beter gezegd of) de landmacht meer slagkracht krijgt.

Hongarije heeft meer slagkracht dan NL landmacht hebben ook PZH en 44 Leo 2A7 aangeschaft.

En dat alleen is al een aanklacht tegen ons politiek establishment gezien de grote van onze economie, het defensiebudget in Euro's en de grote van onze bevolking. Echt een fucking schande.

Een deal van € 2 miljard voor 210 voertuigen ! en eerste levering in 2022... ik denk dat dit zeker invloed (positief) heeft op de keuze bij de Aussies, minder risico's en kan dan makkelijk(er) aansluiten op de productie/fabricage.

Tevens voor de VS is de KF41 geen papiermodel meer, maar een seriemodel in gebruik straks. Als de Australie ook besluit voor de KF41 dan wordt dit een serieuze IFV voor de toekomst.     

2 miljard voor 210 voertuigen is niet goedkoop ok.

De Hongaren zijn lekker bezig. Ben benieuwd of de Hongaarse keuze invloed zal gaan hebben op de uitkomst van het Australische Land 400 Phase 3.

First Ares Armoured Vehicles Delivered to the Army

Named for the ancient Greek god of war, Ares delivers a step-change in the British Army's battlefield capability. Last week, the first six vehicles were delivered to the Household Cavalry Regiment at Bulford, Wiltshire.



Ares, and the other variants in the Ajax family of armoured vehicles, will replace the Army's Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) (CVR(T)) vehicles which have been the mainstay of armoured reconnaissance for almost fifty years.

CVR(T) has proved itself on the battlefield in the Falklands and the in the deserts of the Middle East, but now requires a replacement to maintain the Army's position as a top tier performer and to match the needs of the twenty-first century.

The Ajax family consists of Ares a troop-carrying reconnaissance vehicle, Ajax armed with a formidable 40mm cannon, support variants Apollo and Atlas, a command and control variant Athena, and an engineer variant – Argus.

Ares, part of the Ajax family of armoured vehicles, is being built by General Dynamics in Merthyr Tydfil, bringing hundreds of jobs and wider opportunities to Wales. The vehicles will give the Army's Armoured Infantry and Strike Brigades a critical advantage over any likely opponent, through a combination of the latest technology, exemplary levels of crew protection, and, of course, our world-class professional soldiers.

Colonel Justin Kingsford, the Ajax Programme Director said: 'This is an exciting moment for the Army. The delivery of ARES this week is an important step on our journey to give the Army an amazing state of the art, world beating Armoured Fighting Vehicle'

Describing the vehicle in greater depth, he went on to say:

'Ajax will allow us to manage battlespace information faster from a modern digitised platform, with increased lethality through the new 40mm cannon. Better mobility, alongside enhanced protection levels and increased reliability underline the transformational nature of the capability. A comprehensive simulated training suite supports this fleet and ensures we invest fully in our crews to get the very best of this capability.'

Modified Lynx IFV to be offered for US Army's OMFV competition

Raytheon and Rheinmetall are poised to modify their Lynx infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and enter it as a candidate for the US Army's revamped M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle replacement effort.

The duo have kept their joint venture intact, Raytheon Rheinmetall Land Systems, and are in discussions with the service about the way ahead for the Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) programme, representatives from both companies told Jane's during a 4 May interview.

"[Our proposal] is not going to be the Lynx in its current form, as everybody saw at [the Association of the US Army conference] two years ago," said Matthew Warnick, the American Rheinmetall Vehicles managing director.

Cv90120 is leuk voor erbij. Mortiercv90 zie ik heel veel in. Maar dat ding verslind munitie in een hoger tempo dan reguliere mortieren.

En dat adaptieve warmtesignatuur apparaat. Leuk voor spec ops.
