Nieuwe ontwikkelingen op BOXER gebied

Wat denken jullie over een onderstel met Tracks wat de Boxer missie modules (kabines) kan dragen? Goed of slecht idee?
Als vervanging / aanvulling op CV9035NL ? of liever gewoon CV90 op over op Puma's

Ik hoop dat er voor 17 aanvullende boxers met 35 of 40mm turret worden aangeschaft. Of op een aantal genie versies de 35mm turret bouwen (wordt moeilijk denk ik).

Goed idee. Maar gepasseerd station helaas. Zie het Zweedse SEP programma, rups en wiel, zelfde modules. Innovatieve aandrijving. Heel jammer dat dat afgeschoten is ten faveure van de wat conventionelere voertuigen.

Waarom 17?

Boxers in de IFV rol voorzien van nieuwe/aangepaste module met 35mm toren pleit ik hier ook al langer voor.

Ik ben hier recent in gedoken en ben nog niet helemaal overtuigd van de indeling van de Genie/IFV boxers bij de verschillende eenheden. De genie modules die extra besteld zijn gaan naar de gemotoriseerde brigade ter vervanging van de Bushmasters, dat men gekozen heeft voor extra genie modules is omdat deze het meeste lijkt op de APC module, ik denk dat het contractueel niet mogelijk was dat te wijzigen. Die genie modules zullen dus ook aangepast moeten worden denk ik om in de APC rol te dienen.

De tijd zal meer duidelijkheid geven.

Zou het liefst een Nemo mortier systeem in combi met 25 mm kanon zien, is er niet maar verrekte handig toch, net als de bmp3 turrets

Ik denk echt niet dat ze zo duur zijn, hoe kom je bij zo'n hoge prijs?
Zelfs Spanje gebruikt ze.
Daarnaast is de ontwikkeling duur van zo'n apparaat, de kostprijs valt denk ik wel mee.

Romania to Award Armored Vehicles Deal to Germany's Rheinmetall  ( ... volgende Boxer klant ? ...

WARSAW, Poland — Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos has announced that the country's Defence Ministry is planning to award a contract for the delivery of armored personnel carriers (APC) to Germany's Rheinmetall Defence. The company is to team up with a state-run Romanian manufacturer and launch a plant in Romania that will produce the APCs.

"There will be a partnership, a Romanian-German joint venture, which will allow Rheinmetall to obtain the contract from the Ministry of Defence and build an armored personnel carrier that will be first supplied to the Romanian military," Ciolos told local broadcaster Europa FM in an Nov. 17 interview. 

Under the plan, the new APCs will replace Romania's TAB vehicles, which are a locally built variant of the Soviet-designed BTR-70. The amount of the planned acquisition was not disclosed, but the Romanian Armed Forces is planning to replace about 1,500 such vehicles in the coming years. 

"A portion of the funds will stay in Romania and allow to create new jobs here," Ciolos said.
