Niet te doen, ben bij vrienden en die zitten vast in hun perspectief. Ik moet hier mn mond houden over trump, abortus en andere politiek.
Het NAVO standpunt is wel bespreekbaar. We moeten betalen en daar hebben ze gewoon gelijk in. Echter, Amerikanen denken dat alles op te lossen is met power play.
Het werd wel eindelijk stil toen ik aangaf dat als we Trump tijdens de Cuban missile crisis aan het roer hadden gehad, we hier nu niet hadden gezeten.

Following a public competition to choose the name of its future F-35A Joint Strike Fighters, Poland has revealed that these aircraft will be locally known as Husarz, or hussars. This name pays homage to a very specific cavalry unit from the country's military past.
The winning name was announced earlier today by the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. The competition itself began on April 12, and entrants were encouraged to submit their name suggestions via the General Staff's competition adverts on Facebook and X. In all, the Polish Air Force is set to receive 32 F-35As from Lockheed Martin, with deliveries expected to begin this year through 2030.
As the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces indicated, almost 800 individual names were submitted. The first stage of the competition, spanning April 12-18, involved identifying the top five most popular name ideas. These were revealed as 'Halny,' 'Husarz,' 'Harpia,' 'Dracarys,' and 'Duch' on April 22. Facebook and X users were asked to choose their favorite name of the five, of which 'Husarz' came out on top.

Belgium has joined France, Germany, and Spain in the Future Combat Air System (FCAS)/Système de Combat Aérien du Futur (SCAF) programme, with the Belgian government saying the country now has observer status.
Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Labour Pierre-Yves Dermagne announced the news in a joint communiqué released on 26 April.
"On 24 April the government obtained observer country status for Belgium as part of the FCAS/SCAF development programme," the communiqué said.
As detailed in the announcement, the observer country status will afford Belgium access to information on the programme and its development, and will be able to participate in strategic discussions. "This will allow Belgium to get a clear idea of the programme and its implications for the Belgian defence industry," the ministers said.
"At the same time as obtaining its observer status, Belgium is starting a specific research and development programme of EUR60 million [USD64.15 million]. This programme aims to position the Belgian defence industry in the best possible conditions to participate in the SCAF programme," the ministers added.
Dermagne said that given Belgium's recent experience of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter programme, it was decided to come in on the FCAS/SCAF effort at the earliest opportunity. "This should then allow us to obtain significant and structuring societal returns, while also having the opportunity to acquire the necessary know-how from the first phases, for the benefit of our companies and our workers," he said.

Last post by Master Mack - Vandaag om 10:36Vind het verlies van 5 tanks op 30 stuks helemaal niet zo schrikbarend. Vroeger hielden we ook rekening met overdreven gezegd gone in 60 seconds. Het is in mijn beleving te verdelen in een aantal issues. De manier van ontplooien. Het nog niet beschikken over de nieuwste verdedigingsmiddelen tegen drones (zie oplossingen Israël bijv). En het vooral zuinig moeten zijn met deze spaarzame middelen.Deden de Duitsers ook in WO2 aan het einde van de oorlog materiaal van het ene front terugtrekken om op een ander front op het juiste moment een zwaartepunt te kunnen creëren. Wat me alleen wel af en toe irriteert is als dan bijvoorbeeld een Rob de Wijk dit meteen als anti tanker weer aan de discussie over de aanschaf van een Nederlandse tankbataljon koppelt. Wel een beetje eerlijke discussie voeren. Omdat er veel vrachtwagens uit de voering worden geschoten stoppen we ook niet met het gebruik van vrachtwagens.
