Klopt dit was nog voor de test periode in Australië,waarschijnlijk is een apart onderstel gebouwd dat voldeed aan de eisen van Australië (bepaalde lokale parts e.d.) en een toren die gewoon in de kleuren gespoten was al. Het enigste dat voor mij nog ontbreekt is de 2x SPIKE ATGM launcher die we kennen van de Puma.

Wel een video van een trail van de Boxer met de Lance turret uit 2017, het is wel een bemande toren.

Dit kwam ik tegen over de Boxer dat deze met Rheinmetall Defence LANCE turrets kan worden uitgerust.

Terugkomend op de vorige melding van aankoop van de Boxer door Slovenië :

Slovenia to procure Boxer 8×8 armoured wheeled vehicles
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia plans to procure Boxer 8×8 armoured wheeled vehicles for a new Central Battalion Battle Group.

Slovenia's Ministry of Defence said in a press release on 2 February that the deal for future procurement of Boxer 8×8 armoured wheeled platform for a new Central Battalion Battle Group to be signed in later in the year.

In order to realize the investment in the new 8×8 armoured wheeled platform, the Ministry of Defense, in accordance with the Regulation on the uniform methodology for the preparation and treatment of investment documentation in the defense field, prepared and approved the required investment documentation. In the financial plan of the Ministry for the years 2018 and 2019, the Ministry of Defense has provided funding for the realization of an armoured wheeled platform.

In February 2018, the Ministry of Defence will give a written initiative to the international organization OCCAR (Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation) for Slovenia's accession to the multinational BOXER program. Slovenia's Ministry of Defence has allocated funding for the procurement in 2018 and 2019, with the acquisition of an 8×8 platform included in both the country's medium- and long-term defence planning programmes

BAE Systems, Pearson Engineering and Thales UK have signed agreement with ARTEC (Rheinmetall + KMW) to be partners for UK MIV programme. Rheinmetall says 100% of Boxer final assembly will be in UK with new integration centre.

MIV BOXER Manufacture Drives UK Jobs and Prosperity   (het zou gaan om ca. 800 stuks voertuigen ... wel goed voor de naamsbekendheid van de Boxer, maar of er zoveel werk voor NL uit komt ?? ... nog maar de vraag.  Eerst moet er nog definitief een keuze gemaakt worden door de Britten )

Er zal geen grote zak geld verdiend worden door de BV NL maar het kan wel de kosten drukken van eventueel extra aan te kopen boxers voor de eerder genoemde plannen om een IFV/ DFP op de basis van de boxer in te voeren die we door de grotere schaal van productie in dezelfde reeks kunnen mee bouwen, daardoor zou Nederland een deel van de Britse voertuigen ook kunnen bouwen al zou het gaan om delen van de voertuigen.

In January 2018 leading British companies in the defence sector; BAE Systems, Pearson Engineering and Thales UK have signed agreements with the ARTEC consortium as partners for the production of BOXER.

Should the armoured wheeled vehicle be selected as the British Army's next generation Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV), at least 60% of BOXER's value creation and 100% of final assembly will take place in Britain.

As part of a 'competition within collaboration concept' ARTEC has defined a competitive process which ensures that main partners and their supply chains offer the very best value to the British tax payer.

ARTEC's investment in the UK value chain is estimated to secure or create at least 1,000 jobs, notably in the West Midlands, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast and the North-East.

The UK partnership approach will ensure that British SME's are fully embedded in the MIV supply chain.

Een gedeelte is met een hoger vermogen goed te maken. Maar uiteindelijk zullen de middelen die je wil aangrijpen zich ook  beter wapenen tegen dergelijke middelen.
leuke extra's, maar geen ultieme oplossing. Je zal het altijd van je collectie aan middelen moeten hebben. Zowel pro- als con.

ach een raket verplaatst zich zo snel, het gedeelte tijd- lucht wat geblokkeerd zal zijn waar de laserstraal doorheen moet zal nog geen 0,0000000000001 sec zijn. Alsof een raket rekening houdt met de weersinvloeden en richting van benadering.

Nou, dat was al 40 jaar geleden bekend hoor. Dat wist ik al aangezien we in hevige sneeuwval moeite hebben met het gebruik van de laser, en dat is waarom bv Russische tanks zwaardere lasers gebruiken voor laserafstandmeting dan bv de Duitsers, en wat weer meer (on)veiligheid bij gebruik meebrengt, vooral als je aangelaserd wordt. Het is ook al sinds komst van de laser bekend dat mist, wolken etc de laser praktisch onbruikbaar maakt. Geen nieuws hoor

Oke, ik heb me nooit echt verdiept in lasers i.c.m. weersomstandigheden maar het is wel goed om te weten dat dit een eventuele HEL CIWS voor marineschepen niet betrouwbaar maakt en er dus nog een 2e raket / kogel systeem moet zijn voor dit soort omstandigheden.
