Dassault confirms end of Anglo-French UCAV work  ( .. EU project..  )

Meanwhile, Dassault is this year continuing flight tests of the Neuron UCAV demonstrator. Conducted in collaboration with France's DGA defence procurement agency and the country's air force and navy, the latest round of trials is designed to evaluate the aircraft's stealth characteristics.

Komt het daarmee in de buurt van de EA-18G Growler? Zo niet dan is aanvullend een onbemand toestel misschien genoeg om die capaciteit wel te geven aan een F-35.
Dan hoef je dus geen complete kist om te bouwen maar slechts een UAV toe te voegen aan de jet's om wel die capaciteit te hebben tijdens een operatie.

Dat weet ik niet. In april beginnen ze met Block 4 en dat loopt tot in 2024. Ze komen er vanzelf achter hoe groot of klein het verschil in EW capaciteit is.

KLU blijft op 37 + 15 stuks F-35A
maar aankoop van 8 stuks Boeing ATS, gestationeerd op Leeuwaarden... 

Dit soort systemen bedoelde ik als aanvulling op de F-35, ik vraag me nog wel af wat dit specifieke model precies doet.

Some basic facts about the Air Airpower Teaming System:

- It is built in Australia and intended for export around the globe. Exports will be easier without having to go through U.S. FMS process.
- A prototype is being built now.
- Can fly with or without a manned partner.
- Has a range of roughly 2,000 miles.
- Is 38 feet long and uses a bizjet class engine.
- Will team with E-7, EA-18G, F/A-18E/F, and P-8 Poseidon.
- Modular design for 'snap-in' payloads and rapid reconfiguration capability.
- Initial configuration will be sensor/intelligence and electronic warfare focused.
- Controlled via ground station, other aircraft, and has some level of autonomy that can scale for the mission.
- Design was based mainly on what would be attractive to a global market full of cash-strapped air arms.
- Will be tested over Australia's vast deserts where there is tons of room for experimentation. (Probably based out of Woomera)
- The technology and development will be sourced locally in Australia.
- Boeing will be able to adapt the technology for foreign customers far easier than developing and building in the United States.

De apparaten zijn dan ook bedoeld als onbemand gevechtsvliegtuig, je zou het bijna plaatsen in het daartoe geschikte topic.
